Cricket Unites India

Cricket Unites India brings together the shared expertise of grassroots organisations to use cricket as a vehicle for Positive Youth Development. Delivered as a 12-week pilot programme, it blends cricket skills with life skills, helping young people grow both on and off the field.

Through play-based activities and guided reflection, young people learn teamwork, communication, leadership, problem-solving, and decision-making, while developing their cricket skills at the same time. Every session links life skills to batting, bowling, fielding, and game play, ensuring learning is practical and meaningful.

Cricket Unites India is grounded in the 6Cs of Positive Youth Development: competence, confidence, connection, character, caring, and creativity. Coaches are trained to use implicit coaching methods, where games become the teacher and players are encouraged to think, adapt, and learn as a team. This approach creates inclusive, safe environments where every young person can succeed, regardless of ability or background.

Developed in partnership with The MCC Foundation, Cricket Without Boundaries, The Right Pitch, and the OSCAR Foundation, the pilot programme demonstrates what is possible when organisations collaborate around a shared vision. In a country where cricket is all-encompassing, Cricket Unites India is not just about producing better cricketers, focusing instead on building resilient, confident young people who can thrive in their communities long after the game ends.
